NMR structural studies on polysaccharide derivatives

A new NMR technique has been developed for structural study on versatile polysaccharide derivatives, including cellulose esters and ethers. Thus a 13-C NMR technique has been applied for peracylated polysaccharide derivatives, in which the acyl carbonyl carbon signal is utilized as a remarkably sensitive structural probe, to provide such a structural information as the detaild substitutent pattern on the monomeric sugar unit.
